Fear Over Faith
When our fear is greater than our faith,
We relegate our sacred book into a mere rule book.
We create a box in which we place God, and dare God to move outside of that box.
We pick and choose which verses we want to apply to our lives, verses with which we are most comfortable.
We are more concerned with our personal criterion of “being right” than loving God and our neighbor, which is God’s criteria.
When our fear is greater than our faith,
We view others as being, and having, less than ourselves – less access to God, less involvement in the Kingdom, less power…a lesser voice than our own.
When our fear is greater than our faith,
We apply archaic rules to our modern lives, while glibly misapplying the phrase, “God never changes.”
Because fear is easier than faith.
